The Technical Account Manager will be based in Houston, Texas and will be responsible for providing support and technical knowledge for all ChemTerra products to the Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico regions. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the ChemTerra team, working alongside Sales and Marketing, managing key accounts to provide strategic direction and tactical planning for chemical treatment additives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop account opportunities and expand ChemTerra’s market share
  • Support existing customer relationships while developing new contracts and relationships
  • Coordinate with supply chain and operations to ensure proper inventory levels and that jobs are executed to achieve overall customer satisfaction
  • Provide customer technical support and product sales analysis to increase overall customer value
  • Travel within territory to work with ChemTerra customers as needed (little to no weekend travel)
  • Follow up on existing business leads and data collection
  • Identify potential customers based on feedback from the field, while working closely with the engineering and sales team
  • Achieve aggressive revenue and increase market share within the region
  • Respond to detailed requests for quote, requests for price and requests for information.
  • Professionally represent ChemTerra in all business dealings

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Sales Position with a proven track record of success; Preferably 3-5 years of experience in sales in the oil and gas industry
  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred but not required (Chemistry or Chemical Engineering)
  • Extensive knowledge in drilling fluids and completion chemical treatment additives
  • Must possess a working knowledge of production and completion chemicals
  • Must have established contacts at appropriate levels in oilfield organizations
  • Demonstrated record of achieving sales and market share growth
  • Effective negotiation skills that allow ChemTerra to realize appropriate value for products and services, rather than resorting to price-based selling
  • Developed diplomacy skills used to direct/persuade/influence others
  • Effective communication, decision-making & time management skills
  • Ability to effectively work unsupervised
  • Verified record of accomplishment in sales at all levels

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Ability to work from home
  • Will spend 25% of time traveling to customer locations outside of the Houston area
